Choosing an Instrument for Dad
Does your dad talk about the good old days when he was a metal head and played in a garage band? Does he still play with the boys every now and then at a jam session on weekends? This Father’s Day, or maybe for his birthday, why not take a look at some Dean guitars?
Acoustic Or Electric—a Guitar Or a Bass
Dean guitars come in all shapes, and sizes and types. There are acoustic guitars, electric guitars and basses. They even have different series’ of guitars: Mustaine, Dime and signature models.
Should You Buy New Or Used?
This kind of depends on how much Dad’s going to use it. If he’s just a part time picker, you may want to go with an older model that is in mint condition or one that has been gently used. These are available on the Internet; electric and acoustic, in every style known to musician kind—even on a double necked electric guitar ($1,279). Prices range from as high as $959 on down to $77.00 for full sized guitars. There are even package deals that come with a guitar, strap, amp, guitar case and cords. Don’t drop a bundle on a new guitar or bass if Dad can make do with a used one. He can always upgrade.
