Do a Little Home Upkeep for Dad This Year

Filed under: Father's Day, Father's Day Gifts, Gadgets — Maria at 12:44 am on Tuesday, January 31, 2012

dadDoing some work for dad to home this year is a great way to show your appreciation for the things he does throughout the year. Father are responsible for using pressure washers to clean the house, cleaning the yard and take care of any overdue repairs that are needed as well.

Make a Plan to Help Dad

Split the responsibilities if it possible so the work can be done at a faster rate. Have a family meeting and surprise dad by getting all the work done in a flash. Splitting the work amongst the family makes the workload far less daunting as well.

Focus on the Hard Jobs

The best approach is to assess the harder jobs first; this approach will help save time and sweat off Dad’s back. Tackling the hard jobs first will really show Dad that you understand and appreciate the hard work he goes through every day.

Cleaning up the garage, basement and outside the house and yard should be the first place to get started today. Helping dad can be very easy if you take the time to create a plan of action. A father’s job can be hard at times; there are always chores to be done.

The Perfect Computer Table For Dad

Filed under: Father's Day Gifts — Maria at 12:38 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2012

1292167_miniature_desk_drawerIs your dad the simplistic type; the simpler the better? Or does your dad possibly want to show off trophies, model planes or cars and maybe have room for a couple of speakers? This will determine what kind of computer table is best for Dad.

You’re Such A Show Off

A computer table built into a hutch is a nice touch if dad has lots of trophies that he’s proud of or is a big collector of planes, trains and automobiles. Maybe Dad likes to be surrounded by pictures of his family and friends; a computer table/hutch is nice if dad has lots of computer accessories, is a gamer or just likes to be surrounded by comfy and cozy items.

Don’t Make A Big Deal Of It

But maybe Dad’s a K.I.S.S. kind of a guy—‘keep it simple stupid’. If this is a case, the bare essentials are all you need to look for. A comfy ergonomic chair is nice, no matter how simple you go with the desk or table, however. Being comfortable while you work is a big deal. Of course you don’t want to fall asleep—maybe not that comfy—but comfort is important.

Chances are, you know your father pretty well. If not however, don’t make a mistake by assuming anything. Talk to Dad about the computer table if you’re not sure.

High Speed Broadband Makes An Impressive Father’s Day Gift

Filed under: Father's Day Gifts — Maria at 7:00 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2011

Playing With LightsFather’s Day shopping is one of the hardest gifts to find. Dad’s always have it all, so finding something neat and cool is one of those challenges that often results in a “gift card”.

Bringing Dad Into Today’s Technology

We all have to admit that some of our fathers are simply not up to date with the newest in trends and technology. They are using computers with the big huge monitors, using keyboards with cords claiming there is no such thing as wireless, and using dial up. Time to show Dad a whole new world.

Getting Broadband

Once Dad gets a taste of faster internet, you might open a can of worms.  He may never get off the internet.  Men love to play internet games online and with broadband, that is very possible.  Or, he may find surfing the internet for hours is his new hobby.  At least you have pleased him with a gift that he will love for a long time.

Find the best broadband deals, get it installed, and then give your father the gift of faster internet for his special day.  Dad won’t be disappointed, you will score some major gift giving points, and everyone will be able to enjoy the broadband as well.

Get Dad the Perfect Father’s Day Gift this Year

Filed under: Father's Day Gifts — Maria at 2:32 am on Saturday, December 10, 2011

smoking 2What’s the best gift you can give? The gift of life? Give dad an E-Cigarettes kit this year for Father’s Day and you could very well be saving his life.

Nothing says I love you like…

Show your dad how much you care about what happens to him and his health with an electronic cigarette kit. If he’s afraid that he will miss the tobacco taste too much you can even get the cartridges with the taste of tobacco. And there are lots of fun flavors as well, for something really different. E-Cigarettes are legal in the nonsmoking establishments so dad won’t even have to step outside in the freezing cold to grab a quick puff in the dead of winter.

Life Gets Better

With no more noxious fumes in the house or in dad’s lungs, not only will his health improve but your mother can stop nagging him about smoking. E-Cigarettes come in different styles but you can purchase them in a style that looks exactly like a real cigarette; they even come with a little LED light on the end that glows when you inhale. The best part is that electronic cigarettes are extremely affordable. You can save even more with a safe cig discount too!

Dad doesn’t need to feel like he’s smoking some girlie, cigarette holder thing. He can still give the appearance of smoking real cigarettes without all of the downsides that accompany the habit.

Comfort and Fashion for Dad

Looking Good Hurts or No Pain, No Gain are ideas that we have long accepted and associated with the fashion industry. The idea that things that hurt us can benefit us by making us beautiful is nothing new—from too tightly laced corsets to dangerously high heels and starvation diets we are well acquainted with the idea that looking good comes at the expense of our daily comfort. At the very least, we are prepared to have to choose between beauty and comfort when we get dressed for the day.

Choose Comfort

The truth is it doesn’t have to be that way. These days it is more and more possible to dress fashionably and still dress comfortably. Time and experience have shown us that not only do we not have to sacrifice comfort on the alter of fashion, we shouldn’t. A comfortable woman is a happier, healthier, and ultimately more beautiful woman. That is why your fashion choices should focus as much on what is comfortable and wearable for your body as they should on meeting trends and other fashionable requirements.

Finding Comfortable Fashion Choices

Choosing comfortably fashionable clothing isn’t as hard as it might seem. All you need to do is dress and shop mindfully. Choose fabrics that are comfortable as well as pretty—like silk—instead of scratchy or unpleasant like polyester. Look for items with a bit of built in stretch to help you move or else items that are designed to be free flowing rather than tightly cinched. And of course, you should always choose your womens and mens shoes carefully, making sure that they fit as well as flatter and are comfortable to wear for walking and over the long term. If you put your comfort as well as your fashion sense to the forefront when choosing an outfit you’ll be surprised at how good you look—and how much better you feel.

Skincare and Anti-Aging Products for Dad

Filed under: Father's Day Gifts — Maria at 2:10 am on Friday, September 2, 2011

j29

The average man is typically the last person to show an interest in anti-aging because he’s more interested in other things compared to women who make anti-aging an integral part of their beauty routines as they grow older.

It gets even harder to get men interested in anti-aging when they become dads but for those men who work in competitive fields where it’s important to stay young and youthful anti-aging is something that they need to start thinking about now.

What Products Should You Get Him?

For starters if your dad is interested in starting slowly with his anti-aging routine you should break him in with some easy over the counter products like a night cream, eye cream or facial moisturizer. Explain to him that all of these products can easily be applied in his bathroom at night, before going to bed and they will help him look younger and more rested during the day.

Take it a Step Further

For a man who is interested in removing fine lines, wrinkles or crow’s feet you should recommend that he try using dermal fillers before and after. These products can be used at home, typically cost between $50.00 to $100.00 and are highly effective at helping any man or woman to look younger and turn back the hands of time on his face.

Microdermabrasion

Almost every woman in the United States is familiar with microdermabrasion but most men are not. This process involves removing the dead skin from your face which will expose the health young skin underneath. A typical home microdermabrasion kit can be purchased online and shipped to your dad’s house so he can do it from the comfort of home.

The Importance of Diet

Many guys love to eat and never think about what they are putting into their bodies until they get to a certain age. If your dad doesn’t follow a specific diet, it’s time to sit down with him and talk about the importance of eating more fruits, vegetables and drinking fresh water on a daily basis because these simple things are some of the very best things anyone can do to fight back against the aging process.

Great Fathers Day Gifts for a First Time Dad

Filed under: Father's Day Gifts — Maria at 9:01 am on Saturday, May 21, 2011

That first Father’s Day for a new dad is a special day made even more special by the gifts he receives. But what do you get a father who is probably still slightly traumatized by the arrival of a son or daughter who demands every minute of his life and needs to have his or her diaper changed every hour? The traditional Father’s Day gifts of neckties, aftershave or fishing tackle doesn’t seem quite practical or appropriate for this memorable Father’s Day. Here are some suggestions for great Father’s Day gifts for a first-time dad.

Essential Gifts for the New Dad

  • Matching sports jerseys
  • A small scrapbook with pictures of him and the baby
  • A digital photo wallet
  • A t-shirt printed with his baby’s picture and name
  • Babysitting vouchers from family members
  • A more “masculine” diaper bag
  • Plush slippers for those late-night walks to the nursery

Throwing in a gag gift would be fun, also:

  • kitchen apron that says “Help!”
  • diaper emergency kit, complete with mask, goggles and hand sanitizer
  • baby bottle filled with beer that says “Daddy’s bottle”
  • a six-pack of an energy drink
  • oversized alarm clock
  • stress ball

The Ultimate Gift

Perhaps the best gift you can give a new father for Father’s Day is simply a day to relax. Offer to babysit overnight so that he and his partner can enjoy the day together–the whole day! Tell him a few days ahead of time that you plan on taking the baby so that he can decide what he would like to do with his valuable free time. Better yet, you could give him and his partner a coupon for a free dinner at a nice restaurant. Also, the family of the new dad could get together as a group and purchase a one-night stay at a hotel which offers amenities such as spa, swimming and room service. He’ll love it and his partner will, too!

A good gag gift would be a pack of Huggies wipes unscented to remind him of all his efforts, but seriously, don’t forget to get a real gift also.
