Jewelry Gifts for Dad?

jewel 2Do fathers like jewelry as gifts? It all depends on the man. Some men love their jewelry. Others could do without it forever. And then there are some that settle in on a couple of standard pieces and leave it at that. Which kind of man is your dad?

New Dads and Old Dads

New fathers are all happy and excited that they now have a brand new baby to dote over and to possibly carry on the family legacy. These guys love almost anything that has even the least bit of something to do with their newfound fatherhood. A father’s circle of life in gold or silver on a suede cord will go a long ways to not only make the man look sexy as all get out but be a proud statement that he’s a daddy now. A gold or silver masculine styled bracelet with a single birth stone (of his new baby boy or baby girl) can dress up a man going casual or out for the evening. A ring can also hold a birth stone with the addition of an engraved message, reputedly from the child, on the inside.

You Can Dress Him Up, But Can You Take Him Out?

Dressing up a guy can be as simple as a tie and getting rid of those awful sneakers. Then again, white sneakers with a dark suit are being seen more and more. A sad testament to men’s dress up fashions. Engraved tie clasps and cufflinks, and possibly even an engraved watch from the fine jewelry section, will take an average suit and make it look like a million bucks. What you engrave on these is your choice. A message from a wife, girlfriend, mother or child is nice. Some men prefer the monogrammed look.

Or you can let Dad choose his own gift by giving a gift certificate to his favorite place to shop for jewelry.

Make The Most of Your Father’s Day Gift Budget

discount 2Is it OK to use discount vouchers when you’re buying a father’s day gift? Are you kidding? Did your father teach you nothing? Of course it’s okay.

Memberships

Memberships to ‘guy sites’ that offer discount vouchers, freebies and chances to win big ‘guy’ prizes are often free and will give your dad a surprise weekly/monthly or even daily. Memberships to hardware stores’ sites and other home improvement or construction services will also frequently send out discount vouchers and sale notifications that Dad might be able to take advantage of, depending on if he’s a do it yourselfer; young or old; still working or retired. Gift certificates, (and I know you’ve heard that people almost never use these), still are not a bad idea for a store or item at which Dad shops frequently or is passionate about; i.e. Model trains, die cast cars, backyard improvements are gardening, electronics… You get the idea. If there’s a particular hobby shop or sporting goods store at which Dad shops all the time check on line to see if a membership would entitle your father to their emails on discount vouchers and savings.

Gifts Through the Mail

A gift basket may not seem like something for a father when you first consider it; but reconsider. There are gift baskets that include more than just flowers or fruit. Golf themed gift baskets, gift baskets with football items, gourmet coffee gift baskets, gift baskets centered on gambling… You get the picture. These are a great gift not only for father’s day but around the holidays as well. Do a search on your computer for gift baskets and discounts and you’ll undoubtedly run across an online service that will either have sale items or e-mail you a discount voucher to be used immediately on your purchase.

Dads just aren’t that hard to please. By him a couple of porterhouses and a nice grill with a discount voucher from a grocery store and a hardware store and you’re good to go.

Dad may also like toby carvery vouchers.
